That's disappointing. We keep saying we want the Muslim communities to do something about radicals. They attempted to do so but was ignored by law enforcement and other officials. My bet is they didn't take it seriously because it was Muslims reporting the concern.

The big problem is that until caught with their hand in the "cookie jar", there is nothing authorities can do with people like this. Sure they can put them under 24 hour surveillance, but that gets expensive quickly, and there are far to many like him for that to be practical. For every one that is likely to do something, there are 20 out there creating distractions. Teeth need to be added to terroristic threats and not just to actions, or there will be more of this.
