Seems that AG Sessions is focusing on his job despite the distractions and criticism by POTUS. This measure seems to make sense and should get results. It sure looks like his boss is trying to force him to resign or he is just the latest recipient of Trump's wrath. I thought it was ironic that Trump spoke about wanting more loyalty and for the Reps to protect him, while stabbing Sessions in the back and publicly shaming his performance. Some voted for him because he has a different style, but IMO this is not the way to support those that work for you, in any setting. If you are truly dissatisfied with someone then ask for their resignation, or fire them. Glad to see AG Sessions pursuing his agenda and performing his duties as AG. I'm not sure how much longer he will last, even though he's said he has no intentions of resigning. He seems to be doing his job well, but apparently Trump thinks that includes making the investigations go away. That's not how our system works and Sessions recusing himself is a requirement of the law. This makes it appear that Trump wanted him to violate the law to remain loyal. Trump's advisors are not doing their job by steering him away from actions such as these regarding Sessions, or else Trump is not heeding their advice. He's making his life harder than it should have to be. Thanks for sharing.

The law is fairly clear on the matter, as Sessions has stated. "The regulation, 28 CFR 45.2, notes that a Justice Department employee shall not participate in a “criminal investigation or prosecution if he has a personal or political relationship with … an elected official, a candidate (whether or not successful) for elective, public office, a political party, or a campaign organization.”
“I recused myself not because of any asserted wrongdoing on my part during the campaign,” Sessions said. “But because a Department of Justice regulation, 28 CFR 45.2, required it.”

Thanks Sgt Wayne Wood for making us aware that on Tuesday July 25, 2017 "Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced ... that sanctuary cities must give federal immigration authorities access to jails and alert them when someone facing deportation will be released from custody in order to receive certain law enforcement grants."
I am thankful that the Attorney General of the USA "rolled out the new rules as part of his promised crackdown on sanctuary cities, so called because they do not cooperate with federal immigration agents."
Kudos to Attorney General Jeff Sessions!
Thanks for alerting me SMSgt Minister Gerald A. "Doc" Thomas
