Shaw suspends PT testing after two airmen’s running-related deaths

My brother in law died at Ft. Jackson in mid 90's. He was a SSG and due to make SFC. Just returned from lengthy tours in Germany and Korea. Reported in and went on a unit run. Went downhill during recovery at the Temp Lodging Facility and passed at Branch Clinic. Turns out he had a congenital heart defect, but maybe the heat and humidity triggered it. It pays to be acclimatized.
