Yes, especially for women whose symptoms usually present differently than in a man. Watch for those persistent backaches! Thanks for sharing, Sgt Kelli Mays !

I am glad Sue Palmer survived and learned from her experience Sgt Kelli Mays. It is also great that she is sharing what she has learned from her heart attack.
the first person I knew who has=d a heart attack was younger than 40 and he was the dad of three of my friends in my pre-teen years.

LTC Stephen F. with her symptoms, had I had them, I would have never thought I was having a heart attack or blood vessel bursting open due to plaque. Very scary!

Sgt Kelli Mays - my dad had many heart attacks before he had his heart transplant. I have been under the care of cardiologists for over 20 years and am very familiar with heart attack conditions,

Sgt Kelli Mays LTC Stephen F. Despite eating a healthy diet and getting quite a bit of exercise prior to my collapse over the past few months, my cholesterol test just came back high, My father's carotid arteries were almost completely blocked when he had a a stroke, During his work up, it was discovered that his heart was in just as bad shape and needed surgery first. Sadly, complications from the heart surgery took the life of a man that had survived countless missions over Europe, Russia, Korea, Vietnam and many other unfriendly places as a pilot for the USAF for 32 years. My mother had unexplained high cholesterol no matter what she ate or what she did. Brain cancer...well, cancer everywhere, took the life of this brave beautiful woman.

As a bonus to everything else, I had a heart attack last month. Conveniently, i was in the ER when it occurred. I had been waiting to see my PCP as a walkin and the clinic said I'd have to wait, the doc was going to lunch. I opted to go to the ER instead. Chest pain radiated down my left arm and I could feel the irregularity of my heart beats. My troponin levels were raised and I have since had other tests done. A lot of friends have been in trouble this summer. With the high heat and humidity, their electrolytes have been out of whack, espcially potassium, which is difficult to replace with diet alone when it drops. Sugar, salt are eveywhere, magnesium, calcium are pretty easily replaced. I have found out that potassium is available over the counter. The pills are big but dissolve quickly in water.
