Science changes. That is what science is.... Coffee has been good and bad, so has eggs. Before science said that the Earth was flat. There is no final science. More information makes more findings. This is interesting because this may mean that your failure on a land nav course was not your fault. (NO, I do not think it is that big yet...but in the future.)

Any excuse will do in land nav course... someone needs to go out and find those lost lieutenants

You're right, it's not going to make a difference a Land Navigation course by maybe a couple inches. Flat earthers will come up with some other story on why the magnetic pole shifts.
