I can see the significance of this. I've often wondered why the press throughout the world hasn't gotten sued more often. After all, in the free world one is innocent until proven guilty. The press, by releasing names of suspects and details of the crimes, undermine the judicial process. Juries are supposed to be comprised of people without special knowledge of the case. Because of this juries are far too often tainted when they begin selection. They can claim anything they want, but what they're after is the freedom to make a dollar at someone elses expense.

I can see a difference in this case even though I believe the above to be true. He was never charged or even arrested if the article is correct. The BBC was obviously just trying to fill it's 24 hour news cycle to get their share of the market.

I wonder why they chose to raid him based on allegations of something that was supposed to have happened in 1985 at an entirely different location.

That a good question, unless the person making the accusation said there were cameras or the like around when it supposedly happened.
