Easy to catch as her math is a FAIL. Add $8 to the tip should have made it $123 total.
Another failure of progressive education, or am I missing something with the Common Core Math they are teaching?

Nope...you aren't missing anything...common core at its best. I went to Lowes a couple of weeks back and the computers were out and they had to get out a calculator to figure what I owed them for a bag of screws and what my change would be. I was taught to do that in my head when I was a kid...they don't teach that any more.

I worked in the restaurant industry for many years before signing on the line. In all the places I worked I never heard of the wait staff doing this. Mad at small tips yea mad at getting stiffed on a tip yep that too. But never criminal actions. This is credit card fraud and the police should have been involved.

I can say I have never had this happen (other issues yes) I tip fairly well and try to always treat the wait staff with respect. I understand the job (front and back of house) but it is always good to check your bank statement once a week and your credit report once a year at the least.

That has happened to me before- and have heard several when TDY i has happened. Keep your receipts and check your transactions. Most people miss them until it is too late.
