This is not satire, this is real, and points up the basic difference between the Right and the Left, these days.
The Left is grimly serious and ever so sincere in pushing their many and various "thou shalt not" agendas on everyone, proscribing thoughts, words, and deeds at a furious and increasing pace. The Left's trademark expression is the sneer, always sneering at the various types of deplorables such as hicks, vets, non-college graduates, Christians, people of the working class, hunters, small business owners, and many, many others.
The Right, on the other hand, is smoking, joking, and prone to have a couple beers and make fun of the other side. The trademark of the Right is the belly laugh, usually at the expense of man buns, pussy hats, 50 some genders, or any one of a multitude of equally inane points of nonsense.
Keep it up, Snopes. These days we need all the laughs we can get.

I doubt Trump even realized it was satire, and thought he was retweeting real criticism of the dems. All it takes is a review of RP posts to find several instances of right wing leaning RP members posting Babylon and other satirical articles as true, and sereng several more right wing posters commenting about it as true as well.
As for the right being the party of the belly laugh, please. Try and find video of Trump laughing, and in particular see if you can find a case of him laughing at himself, in a good mannered way. Good luck in your hunt for the buried treasure. The only time Trump's people claim he makes jokes is when he says something so stupid that even they cant figure out a way to defend it, so instead they try and pass it off as him telling a joke.
You can, however, find multiple videos of world leaders laughing AT Trump.
