Saw this on cable and came away with impression that Oliver Stone is painting this guy as a hero. Especially at the end, but that's what Stone does. I don't see it that way but respect the opinions of others that may. He could have gotten media cover and disclosed less damaging material, or none at all. Why not testify to Congress in closed sessions? They should have been able to protect him, to a certain extent. Going to Russia was just a poke in the eye, even though they made it appear as not being his choice. The signers of Declaration of Independence didn't hide in a foreign country and they were facing death. In for a penny, in for a pound.

Unbelievable. Not sure how loyal you are making a movie about a traitor...and trying to make him a hero. How about the people who work everyday with classified and keep their mouth shut. Those should be the heroes. What kind of message does this send to the young people now coming into the workforce?

Hollywood has had questionable loyalties since the communist blacklisting days. It's all about $ with them but that's capitalism overall. The irony is that these people reject material possessions while they live like kings in Malibu. Stone has always used his dissent to his advantage through his movies. I don't see Snowden as a hero and hope he'll be held accountable one day. It only takes one to ignite others, such as Reality Winner. At that point we face real challenges with vetting and overall security.
