Don't we all? Sadly, the way my career worked out, I was always assigned to units with outdated equipment and never got to shoot any tanks equipped with thermal sights before I retired. . . .

Secdef wants to cut 2 billion on tricare. We should cut out Carlson/Sato travel and save another $800 million + more.
In 2012, the USAR paid $2600 to fly me from Edmonton to Honolulu through LAX when priceline had flights for $650-800. 'Failure to use CTO will result in no reimbursement to service member'. One scam after another!

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. A few years ago my unit attended a Yellow Ribbon event in Anaheim. Per DTS they wanted me to take the "cheapest" flight which would have flown me from the local airport, to San Jose (within the bay area), transfer to another flight in SoCal, then finally back up to Oakland. When I had to provide justification on why I denied that flight I simply showed the itinerary to my leadership. They laughed and said you're smart enough to not simply play the game
