That is very sad news that a soldier died during a training run through the woods at Joint Base Lewis-McChord SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I hope the soldiers were all properly hydrated before they ran and that this was a tragic accident and not something more serious.
Lord I lift up each soldier who ran with this man and pray that you would bless them with wisdom peace and joy as they come to terms with the death of their brother-in-arms. I pray that you would strengthen his family as they grieve his death.

Wish there were more details. I will always err on the side of goodness and assume that the leadership followed SOP on standard runs. So many factors can play into our training. Military training is inherently dangerous and should always be as realistic as possible. Unfortunately, this has (and always will) involve risk that most civilians will never understand, nor should they. God bless to the Soldier and his family.
