When I was 18 years old and stationed at NATTC Memphis during A-School barracks parties were a no-no. We would rent out a room at Admiral Benbows. It was next to Beale St. We would raise hell on Beale till 3 in the morning and then proceed back to the "Admiral". We "remodeled" about a room a month and would be put on the "don't rent to" List. We would just have the new guy pay for the room the next time. We took advantage of that law.

this was a Problem in many states in the 70's ...
there were laws Passed or statutes passed on most States and By the DOD Or the Congress, that if the Service member had a Valid Active Military ID, they could not be Denied a Room especially it they were in Transit ...
I know through out the Southeast whit all the recreation are areas and Beaches... there were exceptions and they always allowed the Service Members stay in the Hotels and Motels... Like Virginia Beach to Savannah with all the Military bases close By...
