This building is the old soldiers home in Milwaukee and used to serve to house Combat Vets from WW I that could not afford their own home. I believe it first started as a donated home to the county from some wealthy individual. It fell into disuse in the 1980's and 1990's and was almost torn down. They are rehabbing it now to house homeless veterans (priority) it is an excellent location right next to Miller Park Stadium as well as nature hiking / walking trails. Check out the slideshow, hardwood floors, and awesome floor lounges with floor to cieling windows. They are starting to take applications for Veterans for apartments there if you know of anyone in Milwaukee looking for a nice place that is a Veteran and has a limited budget.
