This is a superb series telling the story of the Eastern Front in WWII from the Russian side. The translation work is great, the only time you know it was originally Russian is when they show the maps, on which all the town names are in the Cyrillic Alphabet. This series, free on Amazon Prime right now, walks the viewer through the battles slowly, showing how the desperate Soviet forces fought for every inch, even in 1941. There is some propaganda, or maybe just national bias, but all in all it seems reasonably even handed. Bonus- from watching the maps (and there are lots of good maps!) I am quickly picking up Cyrillic phonics, for whatever that is worth.
