Of course. The pharmaceutical industry is the biggest anti-marijuana lobbyer in this country. They don't want more states legalizing medical use, and certainly not making weed available to everyone who wants it. So the POTUS is basically ok with medical use for the terminally ill? That is just ignorance because there are many non-life threatening conditions being successfully treated with cannabis.

If you don't like the idea.. get marijuana changed from its current schedule .. or change the federal law...

I honestly believe that in the near term future that federal law will give marijuana back to the states completely, as long as they policies in place to help prevent children from using it. As well as policies to prevent dealers/cartels/gangs from profiting off of it.

A legalized and regulated cannabis industry will put the criminals out of business. If you want weed in CO or WA, you are not going to buy it from a gang banger or street dealer when there are licensed shops everywhere. There are a lot of laws and policies to keep alcohol and tobacco from children. What is the difference?

MJ use will never be a states rights issue. As long as it is still illegal at the Federal level, there will be conflicts between the two levels of government. Either the DEA needs to change or states will lose trying to defy federal law.

not really, slowly more states are coming around. Enough states do it than they can fight it. Federal government would not have the money to efficiently stop it if a majority of states decided to follow suit. And if enough states joined you know the politicians won't make examples of people. It would create a bad light and lose them votes.
