Well if they want to continue doing this I have to call them unfaithful to their oath. So resign and go home!

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint - There is no need for specific authority to "withhold" information - the authority rests within the discretion of the agency and the briefing officer in selecting which data and analyses may be most relevant to the decision making needs of the principal. One may debate if there may be more or less information that should be briefed - but the contents are agency discretion. On the other hand, if the principal requests specific information, the information is generally provided. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

I understand getting the briefing daily. I have received it, and just wonder how much I would freak out if I found one of my employees trying to cut the information flow. My organization had a worldwide mission, and had people in every combatant cmd. Early on, there was some tuning up due to finding that the briefers did not know all the command's areas. Having worked in Korea for 7 years, they had some problems keeping up... But, in 6 months they were good. In a year they were great. I know it is tough to be a briefer, but I trusted my briefers and protected them often. During the Arab Spring, they were very busy.

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint - There may be a difference between cutting the key information flow vs shaping the information flow to meet the needs of the principal. There is much this president has indicated he does not want to know until it is ripe for decision. My personal opinion is he is not keeping up and it adversely affects focus and decisions. The briefings are also complicated by need to fill in details other principles already know. The number of occasions and time allowed to brief is limited - the content is carefully curated to make the best use of limited available time and limited interests. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

I know, and have been involved and also published in the DPB. That is a fast moving train.
