What next American city is most likely to curse its local sports team?
The Chicago Cubs broke the curse of the Billy Goat in 2016 with a World Series win over the Cleveland Indians. The Curse of the Bambino affected the Boston Red Sox franchise from 1918 to 2004. The Curse of Coogan's Bluff prevented the San Francisco Giants from winning a World Series after the 1957 move from New York.
Apparently, the Cleveland Browns are cursed by the removal of Paul Brown from the franchise in 1963, which some people in the sports media explain prevented the team from ever appearing in a Super Bowl. The Cincinnati Bengals made it to the Super Bowl twice and did not win.
I have never been a Dodger fan. I will admit though, the Dodgers have made tremendous strides in the last five years or so to increase the competitiveness of the baseball organization. The past Dodger teams that included Kirk Gibson, Orel Hershiser, Fernando Valenzuela, Alfredo Griffin, Steve Sax and Tommy Lasorda most recently won World Series Championships in 1981 and 1988.
I think it is highly unlikely that the Dodger organization will receive the next baseball curse. No one really knows. The money spent on quality players shows the seriousness the team's owners have for bringing a National League Pennant back to Los Angeles.
