Ummm...folks, have any of you ever, really, listened to that song. It is NOT, repeat NOT, a patriotic song. It is an anti-war and anti-government song. Maybe you should look up the lyrics before getting all soft in the tummy listening to it.
As for the merits of the article...what a complete hack job. The author obviously knew nothing about the song or Springsteen.

No kidding. The author states repeatedly that it's a song about taking pride in your country. What a buffoon. Here's a link to the lyrics.

BruceSpringsteen – Born in the U.S.A.
One of Springsteen’s most iconic songs, Born in the U.S.A. is about the troubled return home of a Vietnam veteranBruce’s original version, recorded in 1982 for the Nebraska album

He should sell the rights to that song to someone more in line with loving their country. Toby Keith, FFDP, any of them pro USA. Or just open it up to any that want to use it.

He thought it was glib because he didn't participate in Vietnam and felt sorrow over it, people should read or listen to the actual interview and not this right wing nut site
