One common theme for the military is food. Interesting info on oldest restaurants in every state. In restaurant business you don't get to be old by not being good, so take info for what it is worth. Actually been to about 6 over the years and one is local that we hit frequently.

Well said Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen. I have seen many restaurants from local to national chains locations close over the past 30 years-especially in the last 5 years in the Northern Virginia area where I live. Building relationships with patrons and staff helps restaurants weather the economy storms and real estate issues.

Roger on relationships. Was happy to see a restaurant my parents used to take me to on the list (and I'm not exactly young). Relationships like that beat fast food every time.
