Next weekend is valentine's day the day when card and chocolate purveyors hope they will go from the red to the black. The history behind valentine's day is somewhat shrouded in mystery but we understand the day honored the actions of somebody who was martyred for his faith. Valentine placed his hope in the atonement of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.

LTC Stephen F. Thank you for posting the story of St. Valentine, even though I know the story I read the article again. It's not the happy love story many would imagine but it is about a priest who married couples in spite of a edict prohibiting him from doing so and how he was put to death for his actions.
