SrA Edward Vong It really is cheesy as a pizza, but it is one of those guilty pleasure movies. The ones you don't admit to your friends that you watch.

SrA Edward Vong - Doesn't require any thinking at all, which sometimes is exactly what you want in a movie.

I read the book because it was on the Commandants Reading List, before the movie came out. I was looking forward to it. It was such a disappointment.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - Very true. I've only seen a couple of movies that stayed true to the book really well. The most notable one I can think of is Michael Crichton's "Sphere". Starship Troopers was one of the worst.

PO1 John Crafton - The Mob influence was a major plot point that was completely eliminated. It makes the mayor less douche bag, more caught in the middle. The affair could only be included if the ending of Hooper in the book was kept as well. They have to go together.

PO1 John Crafton - I did a book report in school on Jaws. I thought it would be just like the movie. My dad had the book. He bought it just before the release of the movie. It has the movie poster on the cover, and says "The Soon to be released motion picture" on it. I thought I was gonna be slick and just watch the movie. My Dad read my rough draft and said nope try again. I am glad he did. It is cliche I know, but the book was better than the movie.
