This is significant. Because this is a civil lawsuit, those subpoenaed can't plead the fifth and must testify under oath. Then their sworn testimony can be used against them at the criminal trial.

I would guess the criminal court judge could supress and rule out certain evidence. Besides now and November the contents of depositions can be gag ordered.
