Back in the late 1980's and early 1990's I was learning how to mix not only recording sessions, but live shows as well (With all analogue equipment). Steely Dan was held up as the pinnacle of a recording mix done right. The instruments and the vocals blend together seamlessly. This track tells the story of the rise and fall of a drug "chemist". Thanks for sharing SSgt Mark Lines I enjoyed listening to Steely Dan when I was a cadet at West Point in the late 70s. Walter Becker and Donald Fagan are very talented musicians.

LTC Stephen F. No problem sir. Steely Dan is one of my favorite groups. My Lutheran Youth Pastor introduced me to them. I would sit in the sound booth listening to them for hours trying to figure out how they achieved the sound mix that they did.
