Thanks for letting us know TSgt Joe C. that on November 25, 1950 the so-called “storm of the century” hit the eastern part of the United States, killing hundreds and causing millions of dollars in damages, on this day in 1950. Also known as the “Appalachian Storm,” it dumped record amounts of snow in parts of the Appalachian Mountains.

My Dad did remember sevl hurricanes that got as far north as Long Island, I'm not sure if that was one of them, just recall he'd mentioned similar things....
