CPT Jack Durish I hope you receive comments explaining the mindset behind this,Cpt. Jack, because i can not find any reason for anyone wanting the man dismissed other than grabbing at a straw to make some unreal statement. Unsafe my ass,i don't think they could find anyone to put in charge of security that would make me fill safer! Really gripes my ass!!

Maybe they should just let all those veterans go...no telling what mean things they might have done

You don't need to label all who disagree as "Leftists". There is a regular news article below with a balanced explanation. The complaints are due to allegations of overreach and toxic leadership during his command of Gitmo (e.g. re-instituting previously banned groin searches, supposedly bugging rooms during meetings of detainees with legal counsel, etc.). For the record, COL Bogdan did honorably retire in 2017 and his Gitmo command was back in 2013.

UNC Charlotte administrator criticized for his past command of Guantanamo Bay
As the #FireJohnBogdan movement questions the retired colonel's past, UNC Charlotte is defending its associate vice chancellor for safety and security.
