Stunning Images of U.S. Soldiers in Afghanistan Captured Using Civil War-style Tintype

Excellent. I had read a small blurb about this some while ago, and seen some photos, but not the gallery you linked to. Thanks. I was intrigued to notice that all the images are mirrors, which would indicate that the civil war photos we recognize were also mirrors??

Thanks for sharing SGT Jonathon Caldwell the images do seem to be like Tintype images. Especially when there are no smiles. It too so long for the daguerreotype to actually develop that people learned that smiles were too hard to maintain so straight serious faces were encouraged back in the mid-1800s.
