Considering today’s perilous geopolitical situation, it is hard not to conclude that much of the American political establishment, particularly the Democratic Party, would prefer trying to impeach Trump to averting war with Russia, the other nuclear superpower. For this too, there is no precedent in American history.

The Democrats are sacrificing all because they are desperate. They're like a fighter losing on points late in the 10th round and who knows that his only chance is a knock out blow.

We will never full understand politics unless we are in first person with it. A lot of BS, and back stabbing goes on we are not privy to. I would be willing to bet in public they say one thing, behind closed doors and alone, they say another. maybe even read each other the riot act for all we know.

Very true observation. The public face and private face are two different things. Both Trump and Putin still have to deal with their own citizens at the end of the day.
