Supreme Court rules nonunion workers cannot be forced to pay fees to public sector unions

Wait for it... The Left will be racing in the streets with their hair on fire, and teachers are already racing to the Supreme Court to refile their case on the same matter. The DNC has gotten a major portion of their funding from public sector unions whose members (and non members) have been paying dues that go right into DNC coffers. Don't let the article fool you. This has nothing to do with collective bargaining. This is an issue of the right to work without being forced to join a union or pay dues to a union even if you don't join. Wow! What a victory for individual liberty. And if President Trump is permitted to nominate one or two more constitutional originalists to SCOTUS, the Left's reign of terror and tyranny will be set back for many decades to come.

Question, since teachers are paid through tax levies, aren’t they government employees?

Teachers are public sector workers if they work in public schools. Traditionally, public schools were funded with school taxes (usually derived from property taxes). However, with the advent of the US Dept of Education, great sums of funding began coming from Washington, income taxes. The US Dept of Education also began giving grants (and taking control) in private schools, and thus, to some degree, the same applies to teachers therein.

My point...

Public sector is public sector therefore public sector unions are, by definition, inclusive of Teachers Unions Q.E.D. (Questionable and Entirely Doubtful)

Sgt Wayne Wood - Teachers brought this same case recently and lost on a technicality. I listened to a presentation by one of the plaintiffs and she indicated that they were preparing a new filing, but waiting on the results of this case. I expect they'll go for it now...
