Tactical Fitness: Which Branch to Serve?

In the case of the gentleman in the story whose goal is to get into federal law enforcement, I think the Coast Guard is a complete no-brainer as the choice. Resume building, good access to key skills, and a paid "internship" (if you will) into what being a federal LEO is all about.
The Army is great and the Rangers are outstanding, but I think the skill set is too specifically tactical to be of utility in most LEO jobs, excepting SWAT and HRT kinds of stuff.
