Taking Care of Soldiers: What Does that Mean?

Excellent article. I especially appreciated the fact that he understands the conflict between being a good combat commander, and being a good garrison leader. That there IS conflict between different aspects of being a good leader. I have often thought that anybody can be easy on their troops, and anybody can run their troops into the dirt. It takes a good leader to strike a balance between the two.

I have always believed in the concept 'mission first, people always' and this article expresses that philosophy very clearly. Great article SSG Carlos Madden!
