Taliban attacks significantly down as reduction in violence deal appears to hold

I remember when militias in Iraq was going out of their war to reduce attacks on American troops to ensure we stuck to our Dec. 31 2011 withdrawal timeline. 'Don't give Americans a reason to stay longer' was the theme of anti-US Iraqi leaders.
The Taliban isn't ramping down violence against Afghan security forces. I'm for getting US forces out of Afghanistan but lets keep a reality check on the state of affairs in Afghanistan between the Taliban and the US backed Afghan government. I hope US diplomacy is still pushing for a peace deal between the Taliban and the Afghan government.
