I wonder how many of our friends in Congress would get re-elected if they voted for this.

The tax will be needed for additional cops since there are going to be more victims to aid.

Already happening in Seattle. Granted it's not $1000.00, but for EVERY gun sale there is a $25.00 "Fee" added to the sale and to ALL ammunition there is a $.02 for 22 Cal and smaller and $.05 on all other, PER round.
The fees were upheld by a King County judge, but there is, I believe an appeal on going to the State Supreme Court.

CPO Frank Coluccio - Yes, and so far this "fee" is restricted to within Seattle city limits, which is why gun stores are looking to relocate outside of Seattle.
