SSG Robert Mark Odom I agree w Cruz: With the US military hammering their people with social justice issues, ie gender fluidity/ rights, critical race theories, our soldiers will be too distracted and divided so as not to be effective and combat-ready as they once were.
Putin or China do not deal in those divisive social agendas.

A1C Mike Allen - My experience in combat in Vietnam fighting a trained and well disciplined regular Army. You can never train and sweat psycologically enough to prepare for war. Marines in my time had to pass a Physical Readiness test or PRT. This test and peacetime maneuvers never prepares anyone for the rigors of real combat. The fighting we Marines on Vietnams DMZ experienced could be akin to being in the middle of the worst flu virus having to dig a fighting hole every three days with tears and ears for next Katyusha rocket incoming. While carrying a Marine or 2 you knew well bodies wrapped in a plastic ponchos on its way to the graves registration mortuary. This ritual is on a daily basis. This is going to be the next war we as a nation fight. The question is this are we going to be prepared? We need to train for the worst to happen to us and pray we survive.

Army Recruitment Ads: China vs Russia vs USA

I believe the Senator was referencing the look of the new recruiting commercials and the difference from our adversaries commercials.
His article references comparisons between recruiting ads.
excerpt from the Senators interview.
Sen. Ted Cruz retweeted a TikTok comparing a Russian army commercial with a US Army commercial.
While the Russian ad used masculine tropes, the US ad was a story of a service member with two moms.
Cruz compared the two ads, saying, "Perhaps a woke and emasculated military is not the best idea."
You would have to watch all 3 and make your own determination if what he was referencing is what was displayed.

This coming from someone whose entire military experience comes from once having owned some plastic Army men when he was a kid.

A1C Mike Allen - Actually, my OP doesn't do that at all. I was just poking fun at him after he chose to insult today's service members.
My reasoning is simple...until evidence exists showing that an adverse impact occurred as a result of this policy, I am not concerned that it will have an impact. I think Cruz is purely speculating, and it's his job to back up his claim. Until he does that, his comment comes across as nothing more than a baseless insult of our men and women in uniform, and what makes it worse is that he never actually wore the uniform.

SFC Dan Utinske The military is just fine. I just retired a year ago. The right wing has hijacked "woke" and weaponized it politically. Woke means alert to social justice. Any organization that is alert to social justice does not make me want to puke.

I would invite folks to https://www.britannica.com/topic/critical-race-theory and not just accept the opinion piece written by Christopher Rufo who is associated with the right wing conservative heritage foundation and discovery institute and who SFC Dan Utinske didn't bother to credit with the copy / paste job above. I encourage you if you are interested to look at a reputable least-biased source and learn about CRT.
critical race theory | Definition, Principles, & Facts
Critical race theory, intellectual movement and framework of legal analysis based on the premise that race is a socially constructed category that is used to oppress and exploit people of color. Critical race theorists hold that the law and legal institutions in the United States are inherently racist.

SFC Dan Utinske - It is not even worth my time to go through how wrong you are. I have been down this road before with folks like you. Your mind is made up and you are set in your ways. Luckily this way of thinking is dying out.
