Annndd this is why LNG tankers are escorted by the Coast Guard into and out of US ports -- something other ships don't get. LNG's contain more energy than small nuclear weapons.

This has to be a huge concern to the federal government. The ports are a growing area where a hostile person could sneak in and do some serious damage to the port city.

Correct. A big LNG would level most of New York if someone managed to blow it up (which is actually harder to do than most people would think -- ask the dimwits that did this!), so I'm sure there's all kinds of oversight.
