My Mom's provider (Kelsey) is really pushing this. It would seem like it only really works for routine check-ups and colds. Granted, if you can move those types of appointments out of the system, it would open up more appointments for other things.

Surprisingly they can do much more with the technology today. They can be placed in ambulances making them rolling triage centers. They truly open up rural areas for specialties that are not normally available without long commutes.

SSG Mike Wyche - You still need an EMT to administer treatment. Still a great idea, just living in a large city, I have only seen it used for routine stuff. Do believe that there is a lot of room for growth.

I agree that you need a provider, but you can use lower cost providers to reduce cost.
