Of course Hillary Clinton shouldn't have a security clearance. Everyone on RallyPoint who has ever handled classified material knows this. Yet there are some on RP who think it doesn't matter. They'll vote for her despite the fact she is unfit. She's a woman. She's the Democrat. As if identity "trumps" all. I can understand civilians who've never served thinking that way. But service members past and present? Inconceivable... and yes, I understand what that word means

LT Michael Watson - Not the best source, but an excellent explanation of why the president is exempt from security clearances.

What Kind of Security Clearance Does the President Get?
Murder, drugs, or a history of mishandling secret files are no obstacles to a president's access to classified material. Presidents have access to it all!

MCPO Roger Collins - No Master Chief, I cannot really disagree, and given the individuals in question, I am afraid they may just let their minions roam freely inside the vaults of secrecy. Of course, we could hope that what they find scares them so much that they could never utter another word in their lifetime.

LT Michael Watson - We have survived some real idiots, no reason to think we wouldn't make it again, whomever wins. I had discovered this fact some time back and remembered it.

And they wonder why Congress doesn't get anything done. These asshats have made a mockery of government, which has enough problems to begin with. More concerned about trying to take political scalps than doing their job. If the Senate was serious, which they're not, we would have a full Supreme Court or at least the hearings to appoint one instead of a continuation of this " We're going to hold our breath until this scary black guy gets out of office." Until they actually start to do their job, they've lost any credibility. It has zero chance of passing, it's just political show for the Party faithful back home. Party over country has put us in the shape we're in now and there's no chance it's going to get better. We're our own worst enemy.
