I'm not familiar with this COL or his writing, but I would caution him about "joining the team" to work on that project. Once he does, no matter how willing the higher ups are to listen, he will immediately fall under their organizational control. His ideas will no longer appear to the Air Force at large without being edited and approved by the chain of command first. And only the ideas they want the AF to hear will be approved for release. So likely ideas that the higher ups don't like will never see the light of day as far as the bulk of the AF is concerned. He would become part of a committee with all of the blandness that committees usually bring. And because all the discussions become internal, any pressure he may be generating now would be lost. Tread carefully, COL Stark, you may be headed into an ambush.

LTC (Join to see) That is one concern, but it does appear that CSAF is actually wanting to correct the direction of Big Blue. Past CSAFs have flat out ignored the pleas of the airmen. Goldfein appears to be honest in his motives, reflected by the actions he's taken, along w/ CMSAF Wright.

And the Navy just released a statement telling our aviation officers we'll be forced into non-flying positions we don't want prior to being allowed to resign.

LCDR (Join to see) I think Big Blue was on the same route, but CSAF wants to avoid that.

Quite. If the Navy is smart, they'll follow suit. We had the same authorization to throw money at pilots, but declined and forced us to do disassociated tours instead. Meanwhile, the AF is actually addressing the problem and increasing retention.

CWO3 (Join to see) I think he would be good, but I also think his job w/ Big Blue is not done yet.
