While the article is ironic to say the least, and the C-130 air frame is stable and iconic, what would happen if they instead switched over to the C-5 or C-17 and outfitted one with the same weapons package? The main issue the article suggests is that the one weapon is essentially too strong for it's own good. Maybe instead of adding to the C-130J/W/U family we should instead focus on upgrading and refining the weapons that work best with it and remove those that don't (like the one in the article), cause eventually it'll become impractical to use if they're not careful. Think of it like having a game character with all the best gear being carried with them at all times only to pick up one small item to suddenly be over capacity and half of the stuff they carry either isn't practical or needed.

There other version is still up and raining down 'Merican hate. I don't know if this one really ever will to full capacity.
