The writer is not right ! He says it is build on an "AR-10, a scaled up version of the AR-15 ". The AR-15 is actually a scaled down AR-10.

Gonna be honest...seems a bit "trendy" to me. 5.56/.223 has it's limitations...and it's benefits. .50 BMG was invented for a reason too, but (to my mind) it's erroneous to imply similar, let alone identical performance from the Auto Max. More mass that 5.56, less propellant than .50 BMG, and I presume a shorter barrel than the M2 or the M82A1. Overall, the AR-10 sounds like more bang for the buck, with a proven combat round with a "flatter" trajectory than 5.56/.223, and more mass.
