They could open up the 92S (Shower/Laundry and clothing repair specialists) by giving them a mission to over dye the TA-50 for everyone.

They could open them up just by having them actually doing their job. They seem to prefer the whole "pitch it and let the tax payer cover a new one" method though. 92S could save the Army millions if they were fully utilized to repair gear.

CW5 Jack Cardwell: My MOS'S were: 165th Signal and O3C Special Services. Neither of my MOS'S were on the list.

Are any incentives being given to retain and retrain those good soldiers that happen to be in overcrowded MOS’s so they can lat move into one’s that are undermanned and continue with their careers rather than be forced out? It would be very short sighted and hypocritical to cheat people out of their careers before they have a chance to retire...

Hypocritical in the sense that we say people are the greatest asset but we don’t always treat our troops that way.

When I was a troop, it took them several months to promote me to L/Cpl and they had to backdate my promotion. Was nice getting a chunk of change that was overdue but it was piss poor that the command kept forgetting and finally requested mast. Got promoted at the next formation but it shouldn’t have come to that. Same thing happened when I needed Safety Shoes (for Avionics). Nobody did anything till I requested mast and then I had GySgts calling me and telling me when they would be in...
