Trying to reenlist with my 11B but they're taking my E-5 and giving me E-4. Not going to happen. Spent too many years as a SPC already.

It would be great if the Army would allow Soldiers to keep rank earned. I feel it would help long-term retention if Soldiers had the flexibility to transfer from reserve to active components and vice versa throughout their careers. It would also be beneficial if those who have ETS'd previously could keep their rank. If an NCO has met the standard and earned the rank it makes no sense to reduce it without good cause. The Army shouldn't be penalizing Soldiers who have an unblemished record for a change in life circumstance.

They could get more if the would allow Prior Service SSGs... but it’s never easy in the army no wonder the Army is having trouble retaining its So Called Best Assets.

Raise the base pay so lower enlisted and especially those who are married don’t have to live in poverty. Provide free day care so spouses can work too, yes it costs to do this, but it’s not a normal job with routine hours either. The snowflake generation is a problem too, they’re soft and self entitled, but don’t lower standards to include those who can’t do the freaking minimum. THE MINIMUM here, any HS Sr can do this if they can’t, bye.
