The issue when you start talking about adding more training time to any reserve component Soldier is the impact that can have first on retention and then recruiting. It is unrealistic to expect these Soldiers to go through the exact same training as active duty forces. While there will always be some people who can do that, the majority cannot take that much time. It is the nature of any reserve component unit. So by requiring more training time, you will be forcing people to choose between their civilian career and their part-time RC duties. In most cases, I know what will win out.
