Though the Book of Enoch is not part of the biblical canon used by the Jews, apart from the Beta Israel (Ethiopian Jews), some Christian groups regard it as non-canonical or non-inspired, while others accept it as having some historical or theological interest. It contains unique material on the origins of demons and The Nephilim, why some angels fell from heaven, an explanation of why the Genesis flood was morally necessary, and prophetic exposition of the thousand-year reign of the Messiah.
The Book of Enoch consists of five quite distinct major sections :
The Book of the Watchers (Enoch 1–36)
The Book of Parables of Enoch (Enoch 37–71) (also called the Similitudes of Enoch)
The Astronomical Book (Enoch 72–82) (also called the Book of the Heavenly Luminaries or Book of Luminaries)
The Book of Dream Visions (Enoch 83–90) (also called the Book of Dreams)
The Epistle of Enoch (Enoch 91–108)

The Book of Enoch fills in a lot of interesting information about the Ancient Giants and the Fallen Angels mentioned briefly in Genesis 6.

The giants were the children of the “sons of God,” (the mighty angels of God later called Fallen Angels), and human women. They existed on the Earth for well over 600 years from the time of Noah’s great great grandfather Lamech until the Great Flood. According to the Book of Enoch, the giants were cannibalistic barbarians who brought extreme evil and violence upon the created world. The Fallen Angels taught human beings the secrets of War, using powerful natural substances and the dark arts, which God was not pleased about. These Angels later feared the wrath of Almighty God and tried to get Enoch to intervene on their behalf. Finally, God had enough of the contamination of His Earth and decided to cleanse the world through the Flood. (with only 8 persons saved to rebuild the human race- Noah and wife and their 3 sons and their wives).

It has been believed that these half-human giants spawned the mythological tales of the Demi-Gods, the Titans and other ancient super beings and beasts; The “corruption of all flesh” led to altered forms of God’s created beings ( ie dinosaurs...).
