Sounds great. Now let’s see its implementation!!!
Weapons training ought to be treated just like physical training. But we all know how it will end: a check the block event.
Quarterly range weeks to include qualifications to say the least.

SFC Bryan Lambing as a PL on my first assignament I had an argument with my BN XO regarding the issue after a range day. It took a little longer than expected to qualified soldier and without the desired results. I explicitly mentioned my philosophy as stated above: weapons training treated like PT. The resources were always available (ammo, ranges, etc...). His posture (and everyone above him): “we cannot break from out installation support tasks just like that”. The sad part was that years later during my 1st Company Command I found a similar support from my CoC as well. Then why in hell they worry about weapons training and proficiency?
