And I did not say she was. I'm saying if she had, her employer might have had grounds to take the action that they did. But because she did not post about her employer, her post was free speech.

Seems she was a whistle blower and they used a private post in a closed group that was about her disliking all the division politics as a reason to retaliate. I hope she gets every dime of that 1.5 Million. Reading the article it also seems the City has a history of doing this type of thing.

Sounds like she was fired for pissing off her chain of command and that the FB post is an excuse they thought they could get away with. While on the other hand, social media posts being separate from work and your employer has always been a problem since it's been argued hiring managers use social media as part of the application review process. Privacy is an illusion these days.
