I am very cognizant of this especially when I wear the Red Cross shirt. Sometimes people remember what I said, more often what I did and almost always whether I made them feel comfortable/safe even without words. Every interaction is like a pebble in a pond...it creates ripples that move well past the place the pebble landed. Try to be aware of yourself and your ability to do good things. Even if you are in the hospital if you are awake you can smile at the staff. Don't look at the limitations, look at the possibilities. What can you do from where you are today to be your best self?
