The Conversation About War and Our Veterans We Refuse to Have

"In today’s era, Churches typically put veterans on stage to praise their heroics or speak of a great battle they’ve overcome while drawing spiritual parallels for their congregation, but they don’t talk about war and the moral inequality we’re asking our soldiers to bear on their behalf." I've had this conversation with multiple civilian pastors who don't seem to consider the impact that their praising might have on the SM suffering from moral injury. I suggest to them that they spend time getting to know their warriors and their stories and experiences so that they don't traumatize them again.
