This is amazing. We do however, need to make sure that the scans are "read" by competent individuals.

Absolutely! I don't know of any AI that is more accurate than a trained physician. According to his patent, though, he states it is to be used to capture an image and/or analyze to identify medical information about the subject... (abstract in link)
