Did anyone honestly believe that the "one country, two systems" model of government would work? Did anyone honestly believe that a "democratic" Hong Kong would inspire the rest of China to cast off Communism? Can anyone imagine what Hong Kong will look like when the last vestiges of self-rule are gone?
