I work in Pharma and while the Epipen is disgraceful, it does not reflect all of Pharma. I wish I could share with you my experience with the costs.

I would love to hear your perspective CPT Christopher Stanco. I worked at Express Scripts for a few years and saw what they could do to products in a formulary in order to have a negative impact to a particular product.

The average cost to bring a drug to market (Phase 1 through Phase 4) is $350-$00 MILLION! It can take as long as 12 years to complete this process and a pipeline may have as many as 20 different drugs in PHI through PH 4 with only 1 out of every 12 making it to market.
NOW, I am not condoning the EpiPen scam however, do not paint every Pharma Company with the stroke of a wide brush!
I have worked in Pharma 10+ years now, in Rx Development and I am STUNNED at the cost to run clinical studies.
The only way to see a perspective is through education.

That is $350,000,000 - 450,000,000 to bring one drug to market successfully. The Loss of exclusivity is often very short (10-12 years) before the drug is allowed to go to a "generic" state.
